Pompadour...Never Goes Out of Style

Scarlett's hair continues to offer hours of enjoyment and makes for great photos. She had a Cindy LuHoo ponytail but it came out and this is the results.

I think I'm turning Japanese

Here's Quinn in his summer uniform for Yochien. He threw up the victory sign just like a true Japanese.

Daddy's Return from Deployment

Neal returned from a 4 month deployment on June 21st. It was a long day as Quinn was excited from the minute he woke up that morning and took down the last paper chain link. Unfortunately Neal's bus didn't arrive on base until around 8:00 pm. Quinn ran to him yelling, "My Daddy, My Daddy!" We are all very excited that Neal is back home with us.

Newspaper Samurai

Who would have thought you could make a samurai outfit with some newspaper and duck tape? That includes pants, a shirt and cool helmet. Way to go Mizutani Sensei. I did have to bribe Quinn with candy to let me take a picture. Gotta love the Japanese kingergarten.

Busy, Busy, Busy

Scarlett's new favorite thing to do is emptying drawers and containers, as well as just generally scattering items about.

What Ya' Gonna Do When They Come For You

So I've decided that Japanese Kindergarten teachers must take a class on how to make anything and everything out of paper. Every day that Quinn comes home from yochien there is something in his backpack made out of paper, newpaper, cups, etc. We've had spinning tops, cups, a toothbrush, a frog, magic wands and the list goes on. But a couple of weeks ago I took out 2 paper cups taped together and cut down. Silly me assumed it was a set of binoculars but Quinn quickly corrected me. He said, "No Mommy you have to put your hands behind you like this". The pictures speak for themselves.

Yes I know it's been a while. So here goes.... July 4th was lots of fun. Quinn & Daddy washed the motorcycle while I turned in all the crazy random items from a night of scavenger hunting. Unfortunately in the end we didn't win a thing. Maybe it was the missing lime green spandex pants, the 8 track tape, or the hot pink fanny pack. Then Quinn, Scarlett & I took a power nap to charge our batteries before heading to the flight-line festivities. Yokota does a good job. There were pony rides, bouncy castles, free food and T shirts, and fireworks. With our friends we celebrated America's birthday in Japan. The best part of the night for me was watching Quinn dancing in front of the stage to an awful band. Quinn liked all the free glow sticks & necklaces. Oh did I mention how he flat out asked a lady for the light ring she was wearing. He said "I want that one" while pointing to her finger and she gave it to him. I swear we do work on manners but they never stick when it matters most.
