Singapore

Last week, Neal was being sent to Singapore for work so the kids and I decided that it was time for us to get to go somewhere too.  Luckily for us we hopped on a free ride, a DC8 plane right from Yokota AB.  Neal was leaving Japan on Thursday and arriving in Singapore on Friday.  The plane we were on usually leaves on Mondays but lucky for us it broke the previous trip and was switched until Thursday ... bingo, a plan was hatched.  On Thursday morning, we headed to the terminal and got on the flight with only 6 other people.   Scarlett asked if we were going home after only one hour into the 7 hour flight.  She isn't the best traveler to say the least but she did OK.  Quinn did great.   I could take him around the world as long as I have a DS, paper/pen and movies.  The flight went smoothly other than the fact that
we had a slight detour to the Johor Bahru airport in Malaysia for a couple hours due to Category 1 storms in Singapore.  We ended up getting in late and Scarlett finally crashed on the taxi ride to our room on the Navy base.  She never woke up even when her car seat tipped over .

Our first day included an all day trip to Sentosa Island.  We went to Underwater World and then headed to the beach.  It is so hot in Singapore that most attractions always have water play areas for the kids.  That night we were ..."movin' on up to the East Side..." and met up with Neal in his very nice hotel room.   Most of the rest of the trip was spent visiting the Zoo, Botanical Gardens, Little India, and the waterfront areas.  Neal and the kids went on the Singapore Flyer which is the world's tallest ferris wheel (I went geocaching).   Speaking of geocaching,  one day we met up with some locals that were looking for a cache we were at.     It was a great week and we loved Singapore.  Hopefully we will be able to visit again.

How did anyone travel w/ kids before  electronics?

Finally at our hotel. She never even woke up when the seat tipped over.

Giving baby a ride.

Keeping busy in the Malaysian airport (loves matchbox cars).
