Yesterday Quinn performed in a Benesse English DVD. His role was in an ensemble performance of "Ring A Ring A Rosie" (also known as Ring Around a Rosie). We were initially very excited. The agency sent us a DVD so we could practice the dance ahead of time... which we did every day. Quinn had the dance down by Saturday. That morning we took the train to the studio at the base of Tokyo Tower and arrived at 1:30 as requested by the agency. However by 4:00pm we still hadn't even been fitted for clothes. The whole time we were there they were still filming Mary Had a Little Lamb. Quinn and another boy played tag, threw paper plates like frisbees around the room and watched my Ipod to pass the time. Finally it was Quinn and the other kids waiting big moment. Quinn looked adorable in his dapper outfit. The workers took the kids to the studio upstairs to film and the parents had to wait downstairs and watch it on a TV. So that's why the video I took looks like a bad bootleg copy. They let us go and watch on the last couple of takes. Quinn looked scared a good number of the takes except for when he stopped to pick his nose after "falling down". Can you say "so proud". Luckily the other boy's mom said she had to leave by 6:00pm. So after what seemed like the 100th attempt at getting 4 three year olds to perform the same dance, they decided they had what they needed. It was an extremely long day and not our best modeling experience in Japan so far. Quinn was a trouper the whole day. Being a superstar is not always easy.
If you watch the video here are the Japanese lyrics are:
Ring A Ring A Rosie,
A Pocket Full of Posie
A Tishu, A Tishu
We All Fall Down
